Bar & Alcohol Policy

Bar Theory AZ is a dry-hire bartending service. These rules apply at every event we work and help keep your guests, our bartenders, and your celebration safe. Your signed Booking Agreement includes these terms and controls if anything differs.
The Client Supplies All Alcohol
Bar Theory AZ does not sell, purchase, or furnish alcoholic beverages, and we do not accept money to buy alcohol on a client’s behalf.
The client (the event host) buys and supplies all alcohol and is responsible for having it at the venue. We provide a custom shopping list to help you buy the right amount.
Mixers are included in every package. Client-supplied mixers are not used.
Unopened alcohol remains the client’s property at the end of the event.
No Sales of Alcohol
Our dry-hire service is for events where the host provides alcohol to guests free of charge. We do not work events where guests pay for alcohol in any form, including cash bars, drink tickets or tokens, donations in exchange for drinks, or admission prices that include drinks.
We do not currently offer service at public festivals or ticketed public events. Selling alcohol in Arizona requires a liquor license, and we are not a licensed seller.
Tips for bartenders are voluntary and are not payment for alcohol.
Age and ID
We serve alcohol only to guests 21 years of age or older.
Our bartenders check valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID and may refuse service to anyone who cannot show one.
No one under 21 may be served or handed an alcoholic drink, and adults may not obtain drinks for minors. Our bartenders may stop serving anyone who does.
Responsible Service
Our bartenders are Title 4 certified and will not serve anyone who is visibly intoxicated.
Bartenders may refuse service to any guest, at any time, at their sole discretion. Hosts and guests may not pressure bartenders to over-pour or to serve someone they have refused.
Bartenders pour standard measures. Shots and drinking games are served only if allowed in your Booking Agreement.
Right to Close the Bar
We may pause or end bar service early if conditions become unsafe, including underage drinking, refusal to follow these rules, fights or threats, harassment of staff, illegal activity, or hazardous weather or heat without adequate shade, power, or water.
If service is stopped for safety reasons, no refund is owed. Details are in your Booking Agreement.
Host Responsibilities
The host is responsible for the conduct of their guests and for making sure guests have a safe way home. We encourage hosts to arrange rideshares, designated drivers, or shuttles.
The host must make sure the venue allows outside alcohol and private bartending, and must follow all venue rules and any permits the venue requires.
For outdoor events, the host provides shade and a safe, level workspace for the bar.
Gratuity
Gratuity is not included in our pricing. Tips are appreciated and go directly to your bartenders.
